Common Thread Artists

Working from a foundation of traditional craft techniques and using natural materials which are constructed in a contemporary way, my work seeks to emphasise and play with the dimension of depth and the flow of movement.  The subjects that inspire me tend to be natural forms and I use texturing and layering in a combination of techniques to articulate their beauty. I am drawn to using materials such as silks, linens, wool, metals and paper in a natural palette which aim to bring a sense of integrity and simplicity.

 

I am a mixed media artist living in South Buckinghamshire with my husband, two teenage children and our crazy black labrador. 

 

I have a BA(Hons) in 3D Design: Silversmithing & Jewellery and am an experienced teacher having taught Textiles & 3D Design for over 10 years.  I often exhibit my work in galleries and shows including Bucks Open Studios and participate in demonstrations, talks and workshops throughout the year.
